Good Morning, Folks!

Another week is wrapping up, and I hope you all have long, three day weekends to get stuff done at home.  Or relax.  Whichever is more appropriate for you.

Well, Indy Friday is no more.  Benita worked through the books that were worth reviewing, pretty much, and no body was sending any new material or suggesting great webcomics for her to check out.  Since she is one of the few people who are possibly busier than me, she decided enough is enough.  It’s a shame, because readership for these reviews were healthy and growing, but you can’t create something from nothing in review land.

I’m going to repurpose the daily blogs in any case.  I’m keeping Tech Thursday and Super Tuesday, but Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are going to be more free-form blogging for a while.  Or Free Ranging.  Free Ranging certainly sounds funnier—no chicken coop lockdown for these blogs, nosiree!

It looks like Comcast is going to put a cap on extreme internet users and their usage.  The cap is very high, and won’t affect most users.  As far as I’m concerned, this is the first volley in the service providers’ campaign to lock down the internet.  That’s how these things work, folks—they take little nibbles of freedom, and bit by bit freedom (and net neutrality) shrinks and disappears.

Have a great weekend! Scott
