Hi, Folks!

Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes here!

Beginning next week, I’m going to change hosts for the site. I expect no delays in service during the change. Afterwards, if you have you links set to something other than www.johnnysaturn.com, you may have to update them. If I can, I’ll leave a redirect link here for a while. In theory, the change will help the site move faster during navigation, and it won’t be as time consuming for me to update it.

Next week, we are beginning a new, more hands on promotional push for the strip. I’ve got some cool ideas to help spread the word about the comic, because, ultimately, the goal of this venture is to get the strip in front of as many eyes as possible. If you are a podcaster who would like to interview us, or a reviewer who would like to write a review of the comic, please contact me at this email.

Word on the street has it that comics may soon go up to $4.00 a single, monthly issue. I don’t buy monthlies anymore—I had to stop because of the expense, and to save room in the house for other stuff, like, say, living. Still, it saddens me that mainstream comics are going to get more expensive, because that means less extra money for indie comics. It also means the average reader will have to limit his comic reading even more, making him even more myopic about the sequential art medium as a whole.

I’m glad, for the most part, that webcomics are free. It doesn’t make it easy for creators to earn money, but it does open the playing field to a whole generation of talent that were effectively locked out of the shrinking print market.

Scott.
