Well at least they were nice to him. I wonder if they let Johnny keep the knife.

I wonder if Johnny would have let them take it.

Yeah, he wouldn't have let them take it, and he wouldn't have even mentioned it to them anyway. He's probably putting that knife somewhere safe for future use.

Well my thought was when you appear out of no where from behind a pillar in front of Squadron Premiere Plaza, they're going to ask you how you did it, or at least look at some sort of recording, see the knife, and put two and two together.

somehow Triops didn't look that short compared to Greg. but the fact most metas literally look down on him sure doesn't make his life easier.
BTW, what abilities / powers does Gauge have? guessing from her alias and crest she might be able to measure powers and maybe amplify or suppress them

Hi, Jlt! Gauge can indeed rate power levels on a 10 point scale. She is also able to gauge each persons weak point. On the surface, that sounds like the martial arts guy in the Inhumans, but it's not. It's more akin to John Taylor "location" ability in Simon Green's Nightside books. She's no where near as powerful as John Taylor, but Gauge's power in the right circumstances could be very dangerous indeed.

Hmm, thoughtful in deed if not quite tactful, cheerful and nice. I can see how she has managed to stay on as Ti Toms sidekick/dynamic duo (unsure which).

Was she deliberately assigned to him as a buffer between Tom and the sane people of the world or is there something more?

While I wouldn't say Gauge is Tom's "Handler," I will say that there is more to it. Plus, she is quite rare in that she can work with Titanium Tom, and can communicate for and to him to a degree.

Oh Brother!, Is Greg shorter than John? John looked about twelve feet tall. Greg looks a little above average as does Gauge when beside of TiTom who looks as big as if not bigger than John.

I like Triops and this looks great. I am looking forward to getting to know more about Gauge.

Greg Buchanan 6'2", John Underhall 6'6", Titanium Tom 7', Elect 7'6", Gauge 5'11", Triops 4'10".

Wow… I had no idea Triops was so… vertically challenged. :P

I don't know how, or even *IF* you can represent it artistically, but I wonder how it would have looked from the point of view of the knife holder, to go from one place to another, and experience whatever relative dimensions of "space" or "time" exist in the intermediary. Is it it like the gate-wormhole effect from SG1/Atlantis, or Lucas's Hyperspace, Roddenberry's Warp Factor… travel through a 4th or higher dimension of unknown space-time?

Does the knife wielder even experience any passage of time or space? Or is the trip instantaneous?

So many questions, I know, but I have always been fascinated by the potential excperiences by using this mode of travel. :D

The height difference between Gauge and Triops is hilarious, as is her comment about where his clothes came from. Boy is he short-a possible side effect of his power?

One thing about Gauge bothers me though…her glasses. It seems like a bad idea have them instead of say contacts or even some type of goggles. One good hit from a bad guy could knock them right off her face, or even shatter them and grind the pieces into her face and eyes-bingo, instant disfigurement and blinding. Maybe she's not the physical brawler type, but that wouldn't stop a bad guy from charging at her anyway, and all it would take is one guy getting within fist range.

I'll be honest, I never saw all the interest in Triop's size coming. It probably means that I have not been clear about his size in my penciling.

Gauge's Glasses: You make a valid point, of course. Gauge is a non-combatant meta, specializing in administration. She probably has arms training on par with army basic training, but nothing specialized.

Of course, no one in the background of a conflict is safe, really. So, when things get hot we'll see if she changes her approach.

Yep, sooner or later the noncombatant support staff of a superhero or superteam finds themselves in combat, and usually during a really desperate time like when the heroes are being overwhelmed by a group attack or a particularly powerful and vicious single opponent.

Group attack…that reminds me, we haven't seen any kind of supervillian team in the Johnny Saturn universe so far. Something like the Masters of Evil or the Injustice League-you mean to say no group of villains has ever banded together in response to the Squadron Premiere?

Tactical and his group don't really count-he's basically a gang leader with superpowered goons.

To be honest, I thought Tactical's Iron Brigade was a supervillain group. There is another group called the Scavengers, mentioned way back in the series, waiting on the fringes. They have to walk lightly, though, because they don't want to run afoul of the Iron Brigade.

To me, the difference between the Iron Brigade and say, the Masters of Evil is that if Baron Zemo had shot dead one of the Masters for failing him, the others would have turned on him and/or left. Pretty much the same with the Injustice League-that's why I say the rest of the Iron Brigade are merely Tactical's goon squad, and not a group of more-or-less equals banding together for a common cause which is the typical supervillian group to me.

Well, that's a good point. the Iron Brigade, originally composed of just Tactical, Alaric, Skorn, Warmonger, and Lacerator, were a supervillain group. Now they are a mob or gang.

I see your point in that the Kingpin has a ton of supervillains working for him, but that doesn't make them a supervillain group.
