I still don't think this is Tara being 'creative' (I'd use the term devious, myself). It's Wiessenshaft's plan, I tell you. Whossname (Thulynne?" just confirmed this, did she not?
There's another aspect to consider. This IS the Spear of Destiny that Tara is holding (More accurately, the Vienna Spear, the one sold to the Hapsburgs, that fell into the hands of Adolph Hitler, and returned to Austria by General George S. Patton after WWII. It is the replica of the original Spear that had a golden sleeve added in 1350 by Charles IV, though later tests showed it does bear a nail that dates to the appropriate period of the Crucifixion) and many legends say that the holder is touched by powerful forces that shape destiny according to the bearer's ambitions. What, exactly, are Tara's ambitions?
Some may be programmed by Wissenschaft, such as preserving his life. But does she still have a soft spot for John Underhall? How might that be enhanced by the power of the Spear? And would an AI be it's master, or it's servant? And if she loses the Spear, what will happen to her? Some say that losing it sealed Hitler's fate and that of the Third Reich…and that returning it to Austria led to Patton's untimely death in a jeep accident. Certainly handing it to Tara led to a certain silver spirit being skewered shortly thereafter.
Would Tara, as a cybornetic being, be tied to the same restrictions as a human would be when handling the Spear of Destiny? Hmmm… Since I know the future of these characters, I can't say anything, but this would be an interesting topic for discussion.
okay, I just went back. Tara was supposed to skewer NORGIEL. That nukes some of my arguments…she had no reason to protect the demon. But she certainly had reason to be annoyed as hell at the silver broad (sorry, can't remember her name). And perhaps she wanted the demon to owe her a favor.
I think it's also worth noting that Dr. Wissenschaft came up with the plan to skewer Thu-Lynn, not Tara. Tara may have enjoyed it, but she'd had enough of being called a "puppet."
As for the spear on display in Haupsburg Castle in Austria, I think most would agree that it is not the actual spear head that pierced Christ's side. But, whatever it's origins, the fates of leaders and nations have revolved around this "relic." It is also to be remembered that Frederic Barbarosa, a Holy Roman Emperor, had terrific military success until he left the spear behind; then, he felll off his horse into a stream and drowned in his armor.
Ah, I love this type of lore. I could go on and on. luckily for you, dear readers, I won't.
But did even Karl expect Tara to be so creative?
Excellent question. I think we'll see a lot more this type of behavior before it's answered.:x
She sounds like she is almost proud of him.
I think she is. Supervillains are full Nitsche-based thought patterns

Never mind, Starship motor in to a moped.
I suppose it's no coincidence that "Wissenschaft" is "Science" in German, right?
None whatsoever.
