Hi, Folks!
Time for some straight talk.
Beginning November, we are going to two updates a week, Monday and Thursday.
“What?” You say. “This is terrible!”
To which I reply, “Not really.”
The main thought that led Benita and I to this new schedule is one of quality. Updating three times a week is a grueling job, and it takes all my time to keep up with it. On top of that, I’m way behind on rendering the comic (about 34 episodes), and that means I’m not putting my best foot forward with each new update. Going to two episodes a week will buy me a little time get things done.
With this extra time, we hope to bring back frequent blogs, the “Inside the Book” feature, and a new, daily post called “Behind the Scenes.”
I also need to get back to promotion and merchandising, both of which have fallen to the wayside in recent months.
When it comes to the rendering, you may wonder why I don’t take on an assistant colorist. The pages are all flatted, correct? So, what’s the big deal—get a colorist to fill that part of the operation up for me. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. I have pretty high standards, and I don’t think there are many colorists that would work for free at the level I need for “Johnny Saturn.” Wish there were, but experience tells me there is not. Additionally, colorists who color at my level or higher would charge an arm and a leg and trash our budget.
So, there you go—“Johnny Saturn” will begin updated on Monday’s and Thursdays in November. Please bear with us, because the plot will only get hotter as we go along.
Scott.

I'll take a quality story well executed that continues 2X a week anytime. thanks for the hard work and creativity
Ditto, keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us entertained. Long may it continue!
I vote for quality over quantity any day. Thanks for all the hard work everyone is doing.
Now to today's comic, I bet he's thinking, "You made me a suicidal drunken bum?! You made me an outcast?! You made me fail my friends when they needed me the most?! Gee, thanks. I hope I can return the favor."
I quite agree I will happily take quality over quantity. Your story so far has been nothing less then brillant and the art work that goes along with it has been wonderful. I would hate to have you burn out at this late date as you are doing so well.
Wow, thanks, everyone! I can't really express how happy I am that you're behind me on this!;)
That's why we read this comic, good art and story. Quality is always good to have.
Well so far he doesn't know she was the one that made him run like a mad man during the big demon fight. I wonder what he will do when he learns that, or if he ever will.
Oh, I'm sure he'll find out eventually.
Do what you've got to do man! As it has been said twice a week is fine because you put work in to it. I read a few webcomics that do probably about 10% of what you do and then update once a week.
Thanks, Dustin! I'd like to say that it's not really a competition my JS and other webcomics, but it is, really. I'll never give up drawing to the best of my abilitiy, though.
