Well, earlier on in the comic it mentions that he is powered by a utopian ideal or something like that. Personally took that as imagery, since he was speaking at a funeral, but if it was something more, then betraying that ideal could have bad reactions. The deeper the betrayal, the worse the reaction. Act like a spoiled brat around Johnny Saturn? Saturn kicks your ass. Kill a man? Feel his pain?
Another possibility is that his growing powers are about to have a physical manifestation as well. Zombie Utopian, perhaps?
Zombie Utopian? Morbidly fascinating… I am intrigued!
Personally I was thinking he’d loose his powers – some kind of mental block perhaps, like a guilt complex that prevents him from using them. Then I got to thinking about the other “entities” we have seen come and go and wonder if he’s going to start manifesting some ancient entity – older perhaps than the Goddess we just bid farewell to.
And speaking of farewells, where’s Tactical going?
Sorry to disappoint, Victor! Tactical has a very good reason for being somewhere else quickly, as will be shown in the next issue. Or, he could be so monumentally arrogant as to believe the targets of his vengeance are already good as dead, just waiting around until Tactical gets to it.
Tactical is a real failure as a human being, but he’s had everything he loves stripped away one thing at a time.Something tells me his vengeance will be monumental.
See, if I was Tactical, the reason I would need to be somewhere else very quickly is because a couple daisy cutters were about to go off in the middle of the plaza. If you’re going to retreat, retreat in STYLE!
Oh please. Scott wouldn’t do another Star Brand/The Pitt thing to us. We certainly hope not, as once was one time too many.
Maybe Utopian’s about to grow weird spikey things out of his chest? Kind of like Urotsukidoji? Along with long white hair and big fangs?
Actually, I really think the ‘new’ Symphony’s about to show up.
Ah, yeah, the Dystopian: born with the awesome power to cause those around him (or her) to see how shitty everything really is, even if they own cell phones that play movies (the new digital watch). Funny, though, I thought Eris was already in this comic.
I discovered your comic a few hours ago and have managed to catch up to you!
I must say I’m a huge fan of Johnny Saturn as a whole.
I’d like to see Hypodermic Man go ape shit on some heroes though.
Wow I like her more now than ever. Great facial expressions.
Thanks! Yeah, she’s a cold-hearted one.
Maybe he should have stayed as a Boyscout
Voodoo ? Anxiety attack ?

I can’t say much, of course, because all will be revealed in Thursday’s episode
One thing’s for certain, Utopian isn’t going into guilt-based caniptions or anything dumb like that.
And for that we thank you. There are too many whiny, angst-ridden heroes out there, as it is.

Of course, if I had read Scott’s reply first, I would have known it wasn’t some dumb guilt complex. *lol*
No worries there, EvilSupaFly! Just look at my comments as sort of a director’s commentary track–neat, but no crucial to understanding the story.
Tactical is leaving. The heroes suddenly seem of no bother to him.
??? After Utopian killed his boyfriend? Tactical is just gonna walk away?
So we don’t get to see his new armor in action?

I have the feeling that U might go nova in the middle of the city, to much stress and can’t control his power maybe…
Guess we will find out on thursday.
Ascending to a new form ?
He becomes Dystopian, the Dark Utopian. Heh.
That would be contradicting yourself
Yeah, but now that I think of it, the Dystopian would make a great arch-enemy for the Utopian. Note to self: Invent Dystopian tonight.
You are too late you know, you already invented IT.
Looks like a regular psychic attack on his mind to me.

Actually, I’m not acquainted with the Starbrand/Pitt story, so I don’t know if I did or not.
Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pitt_%28Marvel_Comics%29
I see your point, now, Rob. No, we are not going that route. I’ve never read any of the New Universe stuff, but that sound very interesting.
Um, maybe his Botox is wearing off.

Welcome aboard, John Wayne! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it!
Yeah, poor Hypodermic Man has not really been shown at his best, yet.
