Alas, Poor Horatio…
on April 8, 2010 at 5:06 pmHi, Folks:
Lots of stuff going on.
Net Neutrality took a shot to the groin today, as you may read in the following article. We’ve always been at the mercy of forces far more powerful than us. Having said that, I’m not going to get crazy about this, because we simply do not know how this issue will pan out for those of us who rely on the internet.
I purchased a sonic pen cleaner, and found it for only twenty-four dollars at a local store. Soon I’ll be able to make use of all the great fountain pens and technical pens I own! Keeping them functional without the sonic cleaner proved undependable, at best.
Ka-Blam Print On Demand is now producing trade paperbacks that are comparable in price to those purchased from Lightning Source. This pleases me to no end. I’d rather give Ka-Blam my business, because I’ve met them and dealt with them often over the years, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I haven’t checked LULU’s current pricing.
Comments on new episodes have been down, but I believe that’s because the aftermath of our Siege event doesn’t have as many talking points. The aftermath is the calm before the next storm, so I’m confident the reader participation will pick back up. Traffic has been as high as ever, I’m glad to say.
I have yet to even see an iPad in person, but I really want one. I’ve seen Jim Lee’s quick paintings on the iPad, because apparently you can use it as a sort of Cintiq on the go. You can also read comics on it, such as “Johnny Saturn,” but I figure you already know that.
Scott.

Ya like drawing with a sponge? Cause that, or your finger, is what you have to work with drawing on an iPad! Go here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oNCvAMldKE&feature=player_embedded , and you can watch Angie draw on one. Go to Best Buy Scott, I played with one a little there. Nothing I’m going to invest in for awhile.
I understand from that Jim Lee article that a stylus is available. If it were just fingerpainting, then I for sure would not be interested. I’ll admit I would want to play with one (and the stylus) before I make the plunge.
Hmmn, the sponge looks like a pain in the butt, but everything else about it looks really cool. I think I would do a daily sketch, because as it is drawing elsewhere requires scanning, transferring the image to a stick, and carrying the stick over to the computer. Pain in the keester, really.
Yeah, Ka-blam seems like the best way to go. Their black and white printing is far cheaper and superior to Lulu and even their color printing is very competitive with Lulu’s black and white. It’s a no-brainer especially with you singing their praises.
The net neutrality thing is a downer but if push comes to shove, there are ways for people to go undeground and not pay anything at all for all the bandwidth they want. The more they tighten their grip, the more consumers will slip through their fingers.
Hey, Joel!
Yes, I totally endorse Ka-Blam.
Doubtless you are right on the net neutrality thing and ways around it.
