Cheating death like that can’t be healthy for the psyche. Would you still care for your life as much ? Does that lead to increased risk taking ? Eventually the dice will catch up with you, no matter how small the risk.
Depends on how you define immortality I guess. If you define it as won’t die due to having stopped ageing then you are only potentially immortal ( since some random mishap could still kill you ).
Me, I’d only go for immortality with ageing being halted (added invulnerability would be nice…) Imagine a 200 yr old body that can’t do anything due to decay but still not being able to die.
If you ever get a wish, be VERY careful how you formulate it….
Still, for all I said about the Hindenburg earlier, hopping into a zeppelin after spouting that line is akin to playing in traffic at night while wearing non-reflective black clothes, including a mask. Tara’s expression indicates to me that she knows this.
Now here’s something interesting. Tara has a thing for JSII. If Wisey buys it, and she survives (which she probably will—I’ve loads of confidence in her abilities that way), could she join his team?
Those must surely be last words, now what’s going to happen?
Famous Last Words
I look forward to seeing JS II rip out his spine.
Oh, it’s coming, and it’s coming sooner than later. No one gets to be this arrogant and not pay the price.

As I understand it, even if you achieve immortality somehow, the chance of a fatal accident keeps rising till something finally gets you.

Not in literature, anyway, Scott.

Keep in mind that JS II is seeing someone now….Plus I’m not sure if Molly would like Tara…
Don’t forget those other famous last words, “God himself couldn’t sink the Titanic.”
Am I the only one really digging Tara lately? I can’t place it but I feel like something is there.
Well, the cheuffer outfit is hot.
